Combination of contact frame and CPU protector
The AM5 Contact & Seal Frame is a combination of a contact frame and CPU-Guard for AMD's Ryzen-7000 processors. As a contact frame, the AM5 Contact & Seal Frame creates optimal CPU contact pressure in the socket, while an optional, included silicone foam insert serves to protect exposed CPU components.

Optimized internal contour for even pressure distribution
The precision-milled inner contour of the AM5 contact and sealing frame creates multiple contact points with the heatspreader compared to a standard SAM. These contact points evenly distribute the contact pressure on the CPU. This ensures that the CPU contact surfaces are evenly touching the socket pins. For example, this can prevent problems with system memory detection.
Innovative silicone foam insert for protection and sealing
The AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame comes with a silicone foam insert. This can be placed on the processor PCB, similar to the AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU heatsink. When installing the AM5 Contact & Sealing Frame, the gap between the heatsink and the aluminum frame is sealed by the silicone foam pressing the foam onto the PCB. This prevents thermal paste or liquid metal from reaching the unprotected CPU components. The foam insert is optional when used with thermal pastes, but mandatory when used with liquid metal.
User-friendly assembly with clear marking and compatibility
To simplify installation, there is a corresponding marking on the top of the AM5 contact and sealing frame. Since the socket has a protrusion on the top – the “north” – end, installation is possible in only one orientation. Four screws are included for mounting the frame and compatibility with Thermal Grizzly AM5 backplates is a given.

Note on Ryzen 9000 compatibility
The AM5 socket and sealing frame is, according to internal testing, compatible with AMD's Ryzen-9000 and 9000X3D processor series (as of November 2024).
Caution! Removing the motherboard's socket activation mechanism (SAM) may void the motherboard manufacturer's warranty!
